Description
Terminating an employee is the most expensive thing a small business can get wrong. One missed step, one badly-worded letter, one meeting handled the wrong way — and you’re looking at $10,000–$25,000 to defend at Fair Work, plus reinstatement risk, plus the stress of a 6–12 month dispute. The Termination Sprint takes you through it properly, with a real HR expert in your corner, for $695. Small business termination help they you really can not go past.
With your small business termination help comes
- A 30-minute coaching call covering: the right grounds, the right process, the Small Business Fair Dismissal Code checklist, what to say in the meeting, and what to put in writing.
- A drafted letter (warning, show-cause, or termination) tailored to your specific situation.
- A meeting script you can use word-for-word.
- A risk assessment: how exposed are you if this person files a claim?
- A $695 credit toward your first month if you decide you need ongoing support and sign up to our monthly engagement and hours on file.
Important: this is one employee, one situation. If you’re managing multiple terminations or a workforce restructure, you need the Redundancy Sprint or a monthly package — we’ll tell you on the call.
FAQ — Termination Sprint
1. Is this service for unfair dismissal claims that have already been filed?
No. The Termination Sprint is preventive — it’s designed to help you handle the termination properly so a claim doesn’t get filed in the first place. If you’ve already received a Fair Work Commission notice or an F2 application, you need different support straight away. Book a 30-minute discovery call instead, and we’ll talk through your options, including representation at Fair Work proceedings, or you can send a contact inquiry HERE.
2. How fast can the Termination Sprint be delivered?
The coaching call is usually scheduled within 2 to 3 business days of your booking, and often within 24 hours if the situation is urgent. Your tailored letter and meeting script are delivered within 2 business days of the call. Most clients go from booking to “ready to hold the meeting” inside a week. If you need it faster, tell us when you book — we’ll do what we can.
3. What if I need to terminate more than one employee?
The Termination Sprint is deliberately scoped to one employee, one situation. If you’re managing two or more terminations, or you’re restructuring a team, this isn’t the right product — the process and legal obligations are completely different. You’re likely looking at either a redundancy process (which has its own consultation, selection and notice requirements) or a workforce restructure. We’ll flag this on the call and point you to the Redundancy Sprint or a monthly support package, whichever fits. Book a 30-minute discovery call instead, and we’ll talk through your options or or you can send a contact inquiry HERE
4. Does the Small Business Fair Dismissal Code apply to my business?
It applies if you employ fewer than 15 employees, counted as a headcount across all your associated entities (not full-time equivalents — every casual, part-timer and full-timer counts as one). If the Code applies to you and you follow it properly, a dismissal is deemed fair under the Fair Work Act. That protection is the reason small business owners can terminate more straightforwardly than larger employers — but only if the Code is followed step by step. We’ll work through the Code’s checklist together on your coaching call and the letter we draft for you reflects it.
5. Can I use the letter and script myself, or does Paulette deliver them?
You deliver them — and that’s the point. The Termination Sprint puts the words, the process and the confidence in your hands so you can hold the meeting yourself. You’ll get the drafted letter ready to print and sign, a meeting script you can read from word-for-word if you want to, and the coaching call covers what to say, what not to say, and how to handle the most common pushbacks. If you’d prefer Paulette to attend the meeting with you via Zoom, that’s available as an add-on or as part of a monthly support package – Book a 30-minute discovery call instead, and we’ll talk through your options, or you can send a contact inquiry HERE
